w South Tampa Bay and all of the Florida High Tech Corridor are one of 7 top "Intelligent Communities" globally, according to a project of the New York-based World Teleport Association.  Tampa Bay and the tech corridor were singled out for 1) anticipating demand for skilled employees by focusing on workforce development; 2) an effective collaboration between academis, the private sector, and local and state government; and 3) an impressive backbone in broadband, DSL, and cable modem service.
