w The Bradenton-Sarasota area ranks #33 on the 100 least stressful areas in which to live and work in the U.S. according to a recent study of the largest MSA’s compiled by Sperling’s Best Places.

w The Manatee-Sarasota metropolitan area ranks third in Inc. Magazine's list of the top 25 best medium metro areas to start a business.  A large technical work force has made the area among the fastest growing for information-based industries.

w Manatee #1 in creating new jobs (+5.7%) according to US Dept. of Labor.  #220 in wage growth (+2.3%).

w Manatee County was ranked #93 of the largest numerical increase from April 1, 2000 to July 1, 2003 by the U.S. Census Bureau.  There was an increase of 22,802 people or  8.6%.

w Tampa Bay was named the 2003 Mega-Market of the Southeast by Southern Business & Development magazine for the second consecutive year.  The mega-market category includes markets with populations of two million or more.  The annual award is based upon an accounting of the top 100 business “deals” among the south’s seventeen states.  The Tampa Bay region ranked ahead of Baltimore/Washington; Dallas/Fort Worth; St. Louis; Atlanta; and Miami.

w The Intel “Most Unwired Cities” survey ranked the Sarasota/Bradenton area #82 on their list of the top 100 U.S. cities and regions with the greatest wireless Internet accessibility.  This survey noted the places where people have greater freedom to access information and entertainment on notebook PCs and wireless Internet connections.

w Manatee and Sarasota counties, called South Tampa Bay, are growing as business centers, with new office and commercial developments along the I-75 corridor.  Downtown Bradenton has been in the midst of a revitalization and downtown Sarasota's views of the Bay add another special appeal as a corporate setting.
